Separate the systems
Bitcoin’s white paper explains a peer-to-peer payment design using proof of work to address double spending under stated assumptions. A ledger can support transaction verification; it does not certify a real-world meal, an issuer’s solvency or every story told about a transaction.

Merged mining without merged claims
Dogecoin’s official mining guide describes support for merged mining with compatible Scrypt systems. Shared mining work does not merge the ledgers, asset supplies or the measures used to describe their activity. Keep each chain’s source and units visible.
