Software implements. Nodes verify.

A release announcement is evidence of software publication, not universal adoption.

  1. Release

Identify the exact version and its original publication date.

  2. Validate

A node independently checks blocks against its consensus rules.

  3. Follow

Keep the block record separate from software version statistics.

Before you concludeCheck the canonical release, signatures and operator instructions.

Bitcoin Core coverage follows official releases, changes and verification instructions. A release label does not measure network adoption, and a downloaded binary does not prove its own origin.

The notebook / 01

Read the evidence in sequence

Start with the upstream release page and its date. Separate bug fixes, behavior changes and security communications. The accepted daily parser records stable releases from the official repository; it does not execute code or install an upgrade.

A reproducible build or signed manifest is a verification method with its own steps. A newsroom link to those steps is not evidence that they were completed on every reader’s machine.

Keep the newcomer in the room

A node independently applies the rules of the software it runs. Miners propose blocks; a node still validates them. The editorial desk should explain that relationship before presenting jargon, performance charts or mining statistics.

Saved observations are dated records, not continuously live values. Software releases retain their original publication dates. Holdings do not establish fund flows; rates and market access require separate current checks.
